Meet the Directors:

  • Ramon Parker Ramon Parker, Director of Bands 

    Mr. Parker returns to Gonzales as the High School Head Band Director in the Spring of 2023.His experience includes teaching high school band in classes 2A-5A throughout the state. Mr. Parker is a native of Tyler, Texas. He attended Texas State University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Mr. Parker also completed a Master of Music Degree at Northwestern State University, where he studied conducting and ensemble pedagogy with Dr. Kevin G. Richardson. In his spare time, Mr. Parker enjoys riding mountain bikes. He has been married to his wife, Dana, for 10 years and they have a daughter named Aurora and son named Maverick. Together they enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Parker is very excited and proud to be returning to Gonzales as the Director of the Mighty Apache Band.

     

    Dana Parker Dana Parker, Junior High Band Director

    Mrs. Parker is excited to be returning to Gonzales and directing the Junior High Band Program. Mrs. Parker began her teaching career in Gonzales in 2013 and has extensive experience teaching junior high-age students. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches Tx. Outside of work Mrs. Parker enjoys rock climbing and spending time traveling with her family. Mrs. Parker is married to Ramon Parker and together they have 2 kids Aurora and Maverick. 

     

    Micheal Holubec Michael Holubec, Percussion Director

    Michael Holubec was raised in the community of Thrall, Texas where he graduated from Thrall High School. Mr. Holubec completed his degree with a Bachelor's in Music Education at Texas State University. During his time at Texas State, he participated in activities such as the Bobcat Marching Band, Bobcat Basketball Band, percussion ensembles, the steel drum band, and the concert bands. He was fortunate to study music and education under the direction of Caroline Beatty, Kyle Glaser, Matthew Holzner, Jordan Stern, Kurt Moede, and many more outstanding professors. In addition to his musical experience, Mr. Holubec also participated in ensembles such as Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps 2013 and 2018, Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps 2015 and 2017, Violet Crown Independent Indoor Percussion 2017, and Rhythmic Force Independent Indoor Percussion 2014-2016 and 2018-2019. Before Mr. Holubec graduated this past Spring of 2020, he's had the opportunity to work for Rhythmic Force Indoor Percussion and teach at schools such as Judson High School, Lehman High School, Chapa Middle School, and Kyle Elementary.

     

    Pedro "PJ" Deluna Pedro Deluna, Junior High Assistant Band Director

    Mr. Pedro De Luna III (PJ) is starting his third year in education. Mr. De Luna a native, of Gonzales, graduated from Gonzales High School in May of 2016. In September of 2021 he joined GISD as the ACE Site-Coordinator for Gonzales Junior High. This will be Mr. De Luna’s  first year as a Theatre Teacher and an Assistant Band Director for GISD. Mr. De Luna  was a marching band Tech in La Grange for 4 years, helping the Leopard band receive straight 1s in marching each year. Before returning to Gonzales to be a part of GISD, Mr. De Luna enjoyed playing as part of the Crossroads Community Band from Victoria, Texas for two years. Outside of work Mr. De Luna enjoys spending time with his family and friends including their husky Arcadia.  Mr. De Luna also spends lots of his time listening to Polka music, Tejano music and barbequing for barbeque cooking contests around the area. Mr. De Luna will be married to Lauren Aguero in September of this year with plans for a honeymoon in December.  Mr. De Luna is very excited to be an assistant director at the Junior High this upcoming year.
